Dunan (gaelic for Little Fort) is a small township situated along the shore line of Loch na Cairidh, a narrow stretch of water that separates the Island of Scalpay from Skye. The Skye Bridge connecting the Island to the mainland is 8 miles south of Dunan. The nearest main village is Broadford is 4 miles to the south and here you will find a supermarket, selection of shops, hotels, restaurants, a 24 hour petrol station and shop and a cottage hospital and modern medical centre.
