Outline planning permission was granted on 9th August 2005 for the erection

LOCATION
Glenmore is a friendly crofting community located just 4 miles from Portree, the island’s capital, where you will find all the facilities you would expect of a small and prosperous town including supermarkets, shops, hotels, restaurants, leisure facilities, a modern medical centre and cottage hospital. Secondary schooling is also available at Portree and a school bus service operates. The Skye Bridge (toll free) is located some 32 miles south.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS
From Portree proceed out on the Dunvegan road and turn left at ‘Howden’s Joinery’ - signposted Struan. Follow this single track road for approx. 2 ½ miles, turn left at the sign for Glenmore, carry on up the hill and along the road for approx. 1 ½ miles. The site is down a shared access road which forks off to the right hand side and runs parallel with the township road (a demolished building and ruins of a blackhouse mark the site).
NOTE
Clawback provision – the conveyance to the successful purchaser will be a nominee conveyance by the crofting landlord at the request of the crofting tenant in terms of the Crofters (Scotland) Act 1993. The conveyance in favour of the purchaser will contain a clawback provision providing that in the event of the land being resold within 5 years of the date of purchase a sum equivalent to one half of the difference between the price paid to the crofting landlord and the retail value of the land will be paid to the landlord. Prospective purchasers are strongly advised to consult a solicitor conversant with crofting law.
