Location

Situated off the main A87 between Portree and Uig, down a quiet no-through road, Glenhinnisdal is a peaceful and secluded glen taking its name from the River Hinnisdal which runs through the glen towards the sea. The village of Uig is some 5 miles to the north where you will find general store, post office, hotels, restaurants and petrol station. Uig is also the main ferry terminal to the Outer Hebrides.
Portree, the principal town on the island, is 12 miles south of Glenhinnisdal and has a wide range of facilities including supermarkets, shops, hotels, restaurants, leisure facilities, a cottage hospital and modern medical centre, together with dental surgery, and both primary and secondary schooling. Primary schooling is also available at MacDiarmid School in Carbost and Kilmuir School. A school bus service operates.

Directions

From Portree take the A87 heading towards Uig. After approximately 11 miles take the right hand turning signposted Glenhinnisdal. Follow this road for just over a mile and Kinkell House is situated on your left.
